From 1915-1923 the Ottoman Turks killed one and a half million Armenians, of which most consider the first genocide of the 20th century and many historians believe this event was a major influences to Adolph Hitler’s holocaust. The United States of America and Turkey despite pressure from other European countries do not formally call this event a genocide and thus in effect is stopping the process of promoting tolerance, understanding and is stopping action from being taken in regions today where genocide is occurring daily.

The Genocide memorial in Yerevan

The end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries were fatal times for Armenians. Ottoman Empire at the Government level planned and carried out massacres of Armenians.
